“Yesterday I needed to use the Radiology facilities here at Sherman for my annual mammogram.  I was pleasantly surprised because I was directed to the Radiology front desk to complete my registration rather than having to wait in the general registration area.

When the gal at the front desk handed me a questionnaire to complete before my exam, again I was surprised to find that it had been modified to reflect only a single page of responses versus the two in previous experiences.  This was really nice as I was able to complete the paperwork before I was taken for my exam.
And for a third time I was surprised because I was taken directly to the examining room to remove my clothing and don a robe.   It was a real treat not to have to walk through the hall in a gown to get to the examining room.

My thanks to the staff at the front desk and in the examining room for recognizing the need to expedite me, as a patient, in a way that was not only efficient but maintained my privacy.  I certainly was a satisfied customer!”

“I had surgery at Sherman Hospital in April 2008, and was again hospitalized in May 2008.  The service I received from every single person involved, was outstanding.  I can’t say enough good things about the nurses in all the services, who were always there when I needed them.  What a WONDERFUL hospital!”

“Last week I had the chance to avail myself of Sherman’s services and once again I came away with confirmation that Sherman truly lives its values.

Debby at 2nd floor registration desk admitted me with her usual sunny smile. Jan Reibock escorted me in and promised to keep my weight a state secret! Pat Jorgenson took expert care of me in the ARC, starting an absolutely painless IV on the 1st try. Dr. Patel has such a gentle touch and my anesthesia left no side effects- she truly is great as well as so good with people. Lisa and Sue took me into the OR and ensured my privacy, making me feel very cared for. Dr. Estes, of course, is so expert at what she does.

Oh, my goodness! How could I have forgotten to mention the wonderful care I received in PACU! Susan Crampton and Mary Vollrath did an excellent and sensitive job!”

“I am writing to say Thank You!  The programs I have been attending through Sherman Care at the Elgin Senior Centre have been so very helpful to us.  The first program – Stroke, Risk Factors given by Dr. Sharon Duval helped me understand the events surrounding my husband’s stroke last year.  The second was on Cholesterol & Triglycerides given by Aarti Bammi, also from Sherman Hospital.  Each speaker was very informed / able to relay the subject matter and answers the questions of the “older” audience. They took the time to help us understand.

Connie Patino, Senior Service Coordinator, has put together a “great” program for the seniors.  She’s always friendly and helpful.

I can not explain how thankful my family and I are to Sherman Hospital personnel.  April 8, 2007 my husband was rushed to Sherman, a brain stem hemorrhage. From the paramedics, emergency room personnel, nurses, doctors in the intensive care unit, all took time to care for Bud and the family. This crisis was softened by their caring manner. (He passed away three days later.) Our hospital in Park Ridge – Lutheran General – always had a gentle touch also, but Shermanhas now equaled this.  Being new residents of Elgin we really thank you!  Our first emergency visit showed us how great Sherman Hospital is.”

“We want to thank you all so much for the wonderful care my husband received during a recent stay at Sherman.  Everyone is so efficient and brought a smile every time they came into his room. We both appreciate all of your efforts to help in his recovery as well as the concern shown for his comfort and well being.  You are the best!”
